Beaches and shallow water

The Flevoland lakes are known for their shallow water close to the shores, so that the entire family can enjoy the water safely. Some of the beaches, such as the Houtribstrand near Lelystad, have special enclosures that guarantee safety for the youngest visitors. The water is also shallow at the RCN Zeewolde recreational centre, which is reassuring for parents of young children. Water sports fans find the space they require at the Ellerstrand surfing beach near Biddinghuizen, or the Woldstrand near Zeewolde. The Weerwater in the centre of Almere is the place to be if you prefer trendy beaches: sip a glass of rosé wine, stroll around; what more could you possibly want?
